I’m not afraid to say that Anne Belmont has been one of the most influential photographers during my most recent exploration of style, emotion, and purpose through photography. When I went to her website to prepare for our discussion and saw that she had a previous career in art therapy, I was not surprised. Her connection to emotion is displayed through her compositions and subjects.
In our discussion, Anne and I talk about how she explores and experiences a subject and photographic experience. That process also goes into using Lensbaby lenses and the advantages they give for expressive photography.
Anne and I also talk about her recent discovery of winter flower photography and the beauty that winter actually has. While we both hate the cold, Anne has found that the winter season has much to yield in terms of creative photography that has been undiscovered.
