I’m secretly so excited about this episode. Maybe it’s because Brie Stockwell and I started talking about doing this episode months ago which built anticipation, or possibly because our conversation lived up to the expectations I’d built in my mind.
Let me take you back to a few months ago. Brie and I had just started chatting on Instagram when she told me about her project and suggested it could be a good podcast topic. She had decided that she was going to craft her photography for a year, collect a minimum of 10 “keeper photos” and then display them in her own gallery once the 365 days were completed. Oh, did I mention she was going to print all of them herself?
I agreed that this was going to make for a great podcast, but I asked her if we could record the episode the day after her gallery. I wanted our discussion to be honest, raw, and connected to the freshly concluded experiment.
Brie and I hopped on the call and began talking. Not only did we discuss a multitude of thought-provoking photographic topics, but an obvious emotional response and connection to the past year began to pour out. This is honestly one of my favorite podcasts I’ve ever done, and it’s all thanks to Brie. She didn’t have to divulge her emotions, however, she had the courage to be forthright with her feelings and put her vulnerability on center stage. Thank you, Brie, for inspiring all of us.
