As I scanned the main room in the Kanab convention center my eyes landed on a tall slender gentleman with long hair. He stood off to the side until he was approached. Who was this mysterious fashionably dressed person with perfectly manicured golden locks? I came to find out it was none other than Eric Bennett.

My history of familiarity with Eric has been that of Nordic folklore. I had heard of him first in a YouTube video by Michael Shianblum… however, he was never shown. My curiosity peaked. I then saw his name as a fellow presenter at both Out of Chicago Live and the Outsiders. I had to reach out to get Eric on the show. After several weeks, Eric and I decided that it would be best to conduct an interview after his book, Conversations With Nature, was complete. This is that interview.

In this discussion, Eric Bennett and I talk about:

  • How he got started in landscape photography

  • Why skateboarding means so much to him

  • The process of writing a book

  • Why he decided to let Jerry Greer publish his book

  • Inspirations from Art Wolfe

  • And more!
