The old adage is that as time goes on, a good wine with continue to improve in quality and become the vintage variety. One could also say that a great home-cooked meal has the same qualities; the longer it simmers, the more flavor is merged into one cohesive dish.
So what about photography? Who better to talk about this kind of thing than Italian photographer, Francesco Gola. Francesco specializes in long-exposure seascape photography. Much like wine and food, the long exposures that Francesco creates become his style as they marinate with time inside his camera. Once the shutter closes, Francesco is left with a beautiful image of streaking water and otherworldly skies.
I was excited to chat with Francesco about his experience developing his style in photography, growing up in the artistic culture in Italy, and the unique way he runs his photography workshops.
