Whether you realize it or not, there are two sides of the coin when you’re learning photography. There is the creative side; the side in which people gush over the feeling that an image elicits or what emotion they felt when taking the photo. There is also the technical side: the side in which you have to learn settings and technical aspects of the camera and post-processing to bring your intentions to reality.

Some are great at both, but most are good at one or the other. Jennifer King talks in our discussion about how the technical side was difficult for her to learn after she picked up the camera following a career in directing photography. After mastering the technical side of photography, Jennifer was off to the races.

Jennifer King and I also discuss her work with PFABC and how she hopes that’s her lasting legacy through photography.
