Zac Mills is primarily a wildlife photographer, but that doesn’t mean he should be written off as a landscape photographer either. I actually think that landscape photographers can learn a lot from wildlife photographers, and Zac is one of the best. It’s not every day that you get to talk about the experiences someone has had while traveling to over 90 countries, so I wanted to take full advantage of the opportunities I had while recording this episode.
Some of the things that I was interested to talk to Zac Mills about were his ability to wait on a photograph. Look, I’ve tried wildlife photography several times and I’ve walked away with some decent photos. However, I’m no wildlife photographer. I’m probably the most impatient person on the planet when it comes to waiting on a photo-worthy moment to happen. I wanted to pick Zac’s brain about what he does while he waits and how he prepares to take the perfect photo.
In addition to being patient in photography, Zac Mills also discusses some of his favorite photographic experiences in this episode. I’m a sucker for a good story, so I literally just sat back and listened as Zac painted a tapestry of details behind his most memorable photo experiences. Zac Mills also discusses his recent partnership with Ian Plant and Shuttermonkeys. We dive deep into how this new and exciting idea came about and how it can benefit anyone who loves outdoor photography.
