I owe my photography career to Ian Plant. He’s the first photographer that gave me an opportunity to write for their website. He has introduced me to countless photography connections. Ian has even been extremely generous with his time whenever I need advice or have an idea. I can’t tell you how appreciative and happy to call Ian Plant a friend. That being said, Ian is also one of my favorite guests to interview on podcasts because he is very fast on his feet with thoughtful responses.
I wanted to have Ian Plant on The Landscape Photography Show to talk about his new photography venture, Shuttermonkeys, with fellow photographer Zac Mills. Shuttermonkeys is designed to take viewers into the field to talk about the creation of photos, techniques, and what it’s like to be on the hunt for great light with other photographers. I, for one, love the concept. Not only that, but the production value of the Shuttermonkeys content is top-notch. They definitely didn’t skimp on filming costs.
In this episode, Ian and I also discuss a recent encounter that he had with his drone. He actually took the drone to the face and has the cuts to prove it. We don’t stop at his drone accident. Ian and I will also discuss several advantages of using a drone for landscape photography and how a drone helps Ian Plant create stunning photographs from perspectives you can’t get on the ground.
